Etihad is arguably one of the most punctual airlines in the world. That being said, some of their flights occasionally arrive late, and their passengers can receive a compensation for the flight delay.
Airlines do their best to respect their initial schedule - but that doesn’t prevent them from arriving late from time to time. While some delays are minors, those above 3 hours are particularly annoying for their passengers. ClaimCompass seeks to turn that bad experience into a better one by helping travellers who suffered from such a delay get up to 600€ in compensation for their trouble.
The EU law known as EC261 acts as the reference for the protection of air passenger rights. It states that in cases of long flight delays, airlines must pay compensation to their passengers. However, if the delay was caused by circumstances out of Etihad Airways’ control, then the airline doesn’t have to pay.
The amount of your compensation varies according to the distance of your journey, from 250€ to 600€. You can use our Compensation Calculator for Delayed Flights to determine how much you are entitled to in less than 3 minutes. We just need your flight number, itinerary, and a few more info to tell you if you're eligible, and to how much you can claim.
You might be entitled to up to 600€ from the airline!
The tab below provides specific data regarding the airline's on-time performance. It includes the amount of flights operated by the airline each month, which portion of these flight arrived on time (i.e with less than 15 minutes delay), which portion consists of delayed flights, and the average delay of their flights in minutes. Rated 8.3 and with only 15% of their flights arriving late, Etihad Airways rank among the airlines with the best on-time performances. However, as the table below illustrates, there are no public data available for Etihad’s on-time performance for several months throughout 2018..
What could be worse than a delay? A flight cancellation. Just like any other airline, Etihad Airways sometimes has to cancel a flight. They will do everything they can to rebook you on another flight at no extra cost. Know that if the arrangement doesn’t suit your travel plans, you can also ask the refund of your cancelled flight’s ticket.
Don’t forget that as long as there are seats available on another flight to your destination, Etihad Airways is obligated to rebook you on that flight. You don’t have to spend anything - even if the seat is in a higher class.
Keep in mind that should your flight be diverted, it is regarded as a cancelled flight by the EU Regulation: this means you could get compensation from the airline for a flight diversion, just as you would for a flight cancellation.
The EU Regulation 261/2004 also protects your passenger rights when your flight is cancelled. If the airline hasn’t warned you at least 14 days in advance, then you could be entitled to up to 600€. We can assist you in claiming the compensation you deserve. Just fill out the flight details of your disrupted itinerary in our Cancelled Flight Compensation Calculator and we’ll take it from there!
At ClaimCompass, we have experience dealing with the airline. Many passengers have already asked us to help them get their flight compensation from Etihad Airways. As you can see below, Etihad Airways is quite cooperative when it comes to processing compensation claims:
In terms of claim processing, Etihad’s performance is only average - the airline takes longer than the industry average to pay compensation.
