Norwegian Air Shuttle Cancelled and Delayed Flight Compensation

Airline Rating & Flight Compensation

Norwegian Air Shuttle Flight Delay Compensation

If your flight with Norwegian Air was delayed, you could get up to 600€ as compensation for your delayed flight. Airlines operate hundreds of flights every month - even thousands or tens of thousands for the largest ones. It’s no surprise that a portion of these flights is delayed. Norwegian Air Shuttle is no exception: some of the airline’s flights arrive later than planned at their destination. It's great to be able to book cheap flights with Norwegian Air, but if they arrive late, the Norwegian air carrier is liable to pay a flight delay compensation.

When Norwegian Air Shuttle could have avoided the delay but failed to do so, it’s only fair that passengers get compensated. That’s what the European law states. EC261 protects your passenger rights and requires airlines to pay up to 600€ per passenger in compensation for flight delays. Norwegian Air Shuttle Flight Cancellation Compensation

Norwegian Air Shuttle sometimes has no choice but to cancel their flights. While it’s going to disrupt your travel plan, the EU Regulation 261/2004 once again protects your air passenger rights. Claim your cancelled flight compensation from Norwegian Air if this has happened to you.

In this situation as well, the airline must be responsible: travellers on flights cancelled for extraordinary circumstances are not eligible for compensation. These circumstances include strikes, air traffic control restrictions, adverse weather conditions, security threats, and a few more.

But when the airline was responsible and failed to let you know about the cancellation at least 14 days before the departure date, EU law states that you can get up to 600€ for your trouble - the exact amount depends on the length of your journey.

ClaimCompass can help you get the money the airline owes you. Just fill out your flight details in our Compensation Calculator and we will take care of the whole for you.

You might also be eligible to a refund for the flight cancellation. You can also check Norwegian Air Shuttle's cancellation policy to learn more about the airline's guidelines when it comes to flight cancellations. The Norwegian air carrier also offer Cancellation Protection.

Norwegian Air about to go bankrupt?

Norway's national air carrier, facing a cash crush, has asked an additional 2 years to pay its outstanding bonds ($380 million value). This ask for a debt restructure has left Norwegian Air with no choice but to put up its landing slots at Gatwick Airport as collateral.

"They are managing the crisis as best they can but they are on the verge of a cliff edge," Bernstein analyst Daniel Roeska told CNN Business.

Europe's third-largest low-cost airline has grown fast since its acquisition of over 200 aircrafts in 2012. But this rapid expansion, aimed at tackling the big players in the fight for the control of the profitable transatlantic market, came with a significant level of debt.

This is only the most recent bad news that Norwegian Air has had to face. It already suffered greatly from the Boeing 737 Max fiasco: effective September 15, they are halting their flights between Ireland and North America. In July, the airline's largest shareholder, CEO and founder Bjørn Kjos, stepped down. Norwegian Air is still looking for someone to fill out the position permanently. Earlier this year, Norwegian Air Shuttle was in the middle of our Airline Ratings, with a decent claim processing score compensating for a below average flight performance.

Is Norwegian Air going to join WOW Air, Monarch, Flybmi, and Air Berlin in the club of bankrupt airlines? Hopefully not. Norwegian Air is currently making progress toward the establishment of a joint venture for a portion of their fleet
